A Case of Mayer- Rokitansky Syndrome Misleading to Pelvic Abscess

Abstract

|
The Mayer-Rokitansky syndrome is a rare congenital malformation which is term now commonly used for the association in phenotypic female patients of unilateral renal agenesis with uterus didelphia and ipsilateral imperforated vagina.
The group of malformation would appear to be closely related inembryologic development, arising as the results of defective formation and faulty differentiation of the Mullerian duct and Wolffian duct.
Recently, a case of Mayer-Rokitansky syndrome misleading to pelvic abscess in a 16 years old female was experienced at our department.
We present this case with a brief review of literature.
